Activities on this topic have been developed to help participants explore the features of good emotional health and understand how to identify and regulate various emotions.

During workshops on this topic, participants will:

Age 6 upwards (as appropriate)

  • Broaden their emotional vocabulary (which is proven to help young people identify and regulate their emotions)

Age 8 upwards (as appropriate)

  • Learn the meaning of the term ‘emotional health’
  • Learn about how puberty can impact and intensify our emotions
  • Learn and practice strategies for coping with different emotions

Age 12 upwards (as appropriate)

  • Examine common scenarios that might impact a young person’s emotion health
  • Understand how and why the brain regulates our emotions
  • Learn about how emotional, mental and physical health are all connected
  • Explore ways to express and cope with intense emotions in a an effective, non-destructive way
