Delivering Relationships & Sex Education: KS3 + KS4

Is your school ready for statutory relationships and sex education?

Relationships and Sex Education is set to become compulsory in all secondary schools from September 2019, through the Children and Social Work Act, 2017 (together with relationships education at primary phase).

We have created an in-depth training course for teachers, including PSHE leads, have a sound grasp of best practice principles.

Lack of teacher confidence is a huge obstacle to effective teaching of RSE. Our training will give you the time and space to voice your fears and reservations about delivering this work and help you find practical solutions to common challenges.

 

Training Description

This one day training will teach participants how to deliver an effective RSE programme in their school. It will explore each topic that should be covered as part of an good RSE curriculum and will support schools in monitoring and assessing RSE.

 

Training Objectives

  • To increase participants understanding of the new statutory guidance for RSE
  • To increase participants knowledge and skills on delivering effective RSE lessons
  • To ensure all participants understand what a quality RSE scheme of work is and how to deliver it
  • To increase participants knowledge of how to assess and evaluate RSE lessons
  • To explore and address issues that may contribute to a lack of confidence amongst participants relating to the delivery of RSE

 

This training will benefit:

PSHE/HS Co-ordinators; Leadership; Teachers and NQTs; Pastoral Care Teams

 

This training will address these OFSTED areas:

The behaviour and safety of pupils at the school
